The Louisenstraße 63 property, according to the land registry, was already in the possession of Johann Georg Scheller in 1831. “Café Scheller” was opened in the building erected in 1849. Guestrooms were already on offer at that time, as can be seen on the spa guest lists. Presumably due to the many French guests, it was renamed “Hotel de France” in 1858. Only in 1886 did it receive the name “Hotel Rieser”; from 1892, it was called “Central Hotel”, and from 1906, “Hotel Kaiserhof”. The building was totally destroyed by air raids in March 1945.
