The Alleehaus building was built around 1820 during the construction of the Tannenwaldallee Road, which Landgrave Friedrich VI had designed as a “chaussee publique” (public avenue) for local recreation. The Alleehaus was originally the residence of the supervisor of the allee boulevard and was converted into a guesthouse in 1838, which offered its guests rest and entertainment options, including a tree with an observation deck.
