Thomas Heinrich Voigt was a trained painter like his father Johann Friedrich, but soon turned his hand to photography. As the court photographer, his clients included spa guests as well as the emperor's family and their noble visitors, whom he photographed on various occasions, including during the Kaisermanöver military exercises in 1883 and the laying of the foundation stone of the Russian Chapel in 1896. Voigt had bought the house built in 1844 located at Kaiser-Friedrich-Promenade 61 from Karl Traine in 1883, which he had renovated and expanded many times in the 1880s and 1890s. The studio was also built in 1883. Like his colleague, photographer Huff, he also used the location of his villa near the Kurpark spa park to rent rooms to spa guests. However, he continued working as a painter. After his death in 1897, his second wife Louise continued running the photography studio. Starting in 1903, court photographer Wilhelm Hatzig then appeared as the owner of the property and could still be found in the address book of 1912-13.
