Villa Escribens (Kurparkhotel)

Wilhelm Weith had the villa at Kaiser-Friedrich-Promenade 55 built in 1846 by master architect Holler. Around 1878, in this location he ran a spa guesthouse, which his widow took over after his death in 1886. After she died, it was auctioned off in 1898, and Katharina Schick, the widow of Wilhelm Heinrich Schick, acquired the house, which she sold to Thomas Escribens for almost the same price only two months later. From 1899 until 1918, the spa villa was owned by the Escribens family and can be found in the spa guest lists of this time period. Around 1920, Felix Carl had a photography studio in the rear courtyard, which was only in existence for a short time. Today, the Kurpark Hotel is located here.
