The late-classicistic, four-story residence with side projections and a hip roof was built in 1858 according to plans drawn up by Christian Holler. Around 1866, widow Margarethe Schilling bought the villa, which she ran as a spa guesthouse beginning around 1878. Around 1891, the Hansen family acquired the property, although they initially kept the name “Villa Strelitz”. Only in 1894 did the name “Villa Hansen” appear in the spa guests lists and could still be found on the lists in 1913.
