Originally conceived as a hunting lodge, the Pürschhäuschen was built in 1822 during the creation of the Hirschgarten park. Because the garden became a popular destination for spa guests and locals alike, the Blanc brothers had the leased building renovated in 1858 and opened a restaurant. From 1903 to 1960, the Scheller family ran the restaurant, which was sparingly equipped and did not even have water or electricity until 1936. Only in 1936-37 was a new building constructed, which owing to the time period and for reasons connected to being a monument had to be built around the old building, because the Pürschhäuschen hunting lodge was to retain its simple design and facilities. The building finally had to make way in 1962, when the Kur AG spa company replaced it with a new, modern restaurant and parking lot.
