In the house of court pharmacist Rüdiger at Louisenstraße 53/55, members of the Walter family were already working in the ornamental trimming industry in 1878. One Karl Walter worked as a masseur out of a room in the orphanage, where he still appears in the address book of 1916. The extent to which the demand for massage therapy had increased can be seen in the fact that the number of masseurs had nearly tripled since 1900.
