The “Haus am Mineralbrunnen” (Mineralbrunnen Spring House), was built around 1809, when the Ludwigsbrunnen Spring started being used as a medicinal spring. In its immediate vicinity was built the predecessor of the later Kurhäuschen (spa cottage), a one-story residence for the keeper of the spring. He was responsible for the so-called “spring shipment”, i.e. distributing the mineral water from the Ludwigsbrunnen Spring. The shed next to the house was used to store the water jugs used for this purpose. As it was a very simple building that was mainly used for shipping the mineral water and was not a residence at the spring, it was torn down in 1824 and replaced by the Kurhäuschen cottage.
