Landgraves’ Fountain

The Landgrafenbrunnen (Landgrave Spring), which was drilled in 1899 on the premises of the golf course, is one of the most recent healing springs in Homburg. Although it was initially only used in bathing spa treatments due to its high salt content, it was finally tapped as a drinking water spring in 1903. The architectural design by sculptor Anton Lussmann in 1908 consisted of a stone frieze as well as a stele with an Art Deco nymph who was creating water. Around 1955, the nymph was replaced by a relief of Landgrave Friedrich II.
