Beginning in 1958, the city of Bad Homburg negotiated the construction of a sanatorium with the Federal Insurance Fund for Salaried Employees. The property of the Wingertsbergschlösschen palace, built in 1860-1862, was decided on as the location. In 1966, this decrepit building was torn down, and in 1968, pre-work was begun on the construction of a modern clinic complex, which was dedicated in 1972. Extensive renovation and modernization measures were undertaken around 1990. Since then, the clinic has specialized in diseases of circulation, the musculoskeletal system, the respiratory tract, as well as endocrinological nutritional and metabolic diseases.
