The building at Löwengasse 17 was used by the Thurn and Taxi Post around 1817. This probably lasted until the 1820s, because according to the land registry of 1826-28, the building was owned by the Landgrave at that time. The building was probably torn down when St. Mary's Catholic Church (St. Marienkirche) was built in 1889.
