Lithographers, painters and photographers were the artists who presented various images of the life surrounding the spa, although mainly lithographs were sold as picture postcards. One of the first lithographers in Homburg was Adam Pauli, who is documented in the sources around 1878 and sold the first postcards in 1890. Around 1892, he transferred ownership of his house to his daughter Wilhelmine Becker but still retained the right to reside there and run the shop. In 1897, the property went to his son-in-law Joseph Becker, who expanded the business with a stationary shop and enlarged it in 1907. His many competitors gradually reduced the demand for postcards around 1910, so that Becker concentrated solely on the stationary shop, which his widow continued to run after his death in 1924.
