The villa on Tannenwaldallee Road was built in 1898-99 for the Frankfurt banker Julius Wertheimber inside the Gustavsgarten (“Accatium”) and was conceived as a summer retreat for his family. The impressive, two-story villa, with its façade facing Tannenwaldallee Road, was considered stylistically pioneering and was praised in reputable architectural journals. The villa has housed the city archives since fall 2017.
