Emperor's Fountain (Mittlerer Brunnen)

The Kaiserbrunnen spring is the former “Middle Salzbrunnen” spring, which was redeveloped in 1841 by the engineer Jules Ribes. Initially, it was simply known as the “Sprudel” (Sparkling Spring). In each of the years 1868, 1897/99 and 1977, the spring was re-tapped and its depth was extended from 56 to 191 meters. The sodium-chloride acidic spring was used in the drinking spa treatment as well as for the baths. The facility today is a replica of the late-classicistic design from 1868.
